Bring Fishing Back to War Memorial Park!

The War Memorial Park fishing pond was created over 30 years ago. The pond was developed for recreational fishing in a midtown, urban setting, and was incorporated into the Community and Family Fishing Program sponsored by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

Today, the pond is filled with sediment, Coleman Creek is degraded, and its banks are overgrown. Fishing is almost non-existent.

The War Memorial Park fishing pond can be restored along with the natural beauty of Coleman Creek. It will take vision, planning, engineering, environmentally sensitive re-construction, and careful maintenance. It’s all part of the mission of redeveloping War Memorial Park.

A revitalized and enlarged pond, as the centerpiece of War Memorial Park’s natural green space, will provide new recreational opportunities in the heart of Little Rock.

Let us know how you could be involved!

The fishing pond could be like this, or even better, with your help.
